Pakistan's tax laws change with every Finance Act, and cross-border structures add another layer. We keep you compliant, claim what you are entitled to, and stand beside you when the tax authority asks questions.
Our tax practice covers the full cycle for companies, AOPs and individuals: registration, computation, filing on IRIS, reconciliation of your books with FBR's records and your e-invoices, and representation when a notice arrives. Every engagement starts with a review of what the tax authority already knows about you — withholding data, Annex-C and Annex-A, and third-party information — so there are no surprises later.
In Pakistan we work under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Federal Excise Act, 2005 and the provincial laws on sales tax on services administered by the PRA, SRB, KPRA and BRA. For groups and investors with interests abroad, we advise on UAE Corporate Tax and VAT, UK Corporation Tax and VAT, and Saudi VAT, Zakat and withholding tax — and on how those regimes interact with Pakistan through its double taxation agreements.
Delivered from our Karachi head office for clients across Pakistan, the Middle East, Europe and the USA.

FAQs
Common questions
When is the income tax return due in Pakistan?
For individuals and AOPs the return for a tax year ending 30 June is generally due by 30 September. Companies with a tax year ending between 1 January and 30 June generally file by 31 December. FBR sometimes extends these dates by notification, so check the current position or ask us.
When is the monthly sales tax return due?
Tax for a month is generally paid by the 15th and the return filed by the 18th of the following month. FBR occasionally changes or extends dates, so we track the current notices for you.
What is the standard sales tax rate in Pakistan?
The standard rate under section 3 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 is 18%. Reduced rates, exemptions, zero-rating and retail-price taxation apply through the Schedules and SROs. Provincial sales tax rates on services are set by each province.
I received a notice from FBR. What should I do?
Do not ignore it, and do not reply in haste. Note the section and the deadline, gather the documents it asks for and get advice. Most notices are resolved with a timely, well-documented reply. Read our guide Received an FBR notice?
Do you advise on UAE Corporate Tax and Saudi VAT?
Yes. We advise groups and investors with operations in the UAE on Corporate Tax (generally 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above it) and VAT (standard rate 5%), and in Saudi Arabia on VAT (standard rate 15%), Zakat and withholding tax. Where local representation before the FTA or ZATCA is required, we work with locally registered tax agents. See our UAE Corporate Tax and VAT guide.
Can you represent me before FBR?
Yes. Our qualified team members act as your authorised representative before Inland Revenue officers, and we coordinate with tax counsel where a matter goes to court.
